Greater Manchester Police updates A man will appear in court after a car was stolen from a driveway in Salford. Officers were called at about 7pm on Monday 16 August 2021 to Moss Lane in Walkden, to reports a blue BMW had been stolen. The owner of the car was approached by two men, who arrived in a car armed with machetes and wearing balaclavas. Emdadur Rahman, 24, of Glenby Way in Chadderton will appear at Manchester Crown Court on 22 September 2021 charged with robbery and possession of bladed article in a public place. GMP Press Release: Men jailed for roles in drug conspiracy

Two men have been jailed for over 25 years for their roles in a class A drug conspiracy in Bury following an investigation by GMP's Serious and Organised Crime Group (SOCG). Alexander Hepworth (07/11/1990) and Pasquelino Mazzuca (06/06/1968) were sentenced on Tuesday 8th June at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court to a combined total of 27 years and 11 months after admitting conspiracy to supply at least 30kilos of cocaine. Between April and October 2019, mobile phone messages showed Hepworth directing Mazzuca to collect and deliver large amounts of class A drugs and cash across the country - including as far as Plymouth - and on one occasion discussed supplying a firearm and ammunition. The court heard that the messages frequently discussed large quantities of class A drugs, where Hepworth, of Alden Road in Rossendale, was collecting thousands of pounds and giving Mazzuca a share of the cash. Marcus Rashford's old teacher praises role model

A teacher at Marcus Rashford's old primary school has spoken with the BBC at the "shy" student that they remember is an inspiration ahead of England's Euro 2020 final. Emma Roberts, head teacher at a school in Manchester, said Rashford has always been an absolute role model. She spoke with pride about the Manchester United forward who lead the free school meals campaign last year The England striker was awarded an MBE last autumn and has also launched a book club to boost reading among disadvantaged children.
