A teen has appeared in court accused of two tram stop

A teenager has appeared in court charged with two tram stop robberies last Friday.

The 15-year-old boy from Wythenshawe - who cannot be named for legal reasons - was arrested on Monday (30 August) before being charged by detectives from GMP's City of Manchester South division.

He appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 1st September accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of possession of a bladed article.

He has been further remanded in custody and is due to next appear at Manchester Crown Court (Crown Square) on Wednesday 8 September 2021.

On Friday 27 August officers were called to East Didsbury Metrolink stop following an attempted robbery. A similar incident was also identified at Trafford Bar.

Salford thrash Hull FC in the Super League

Ken Sio scored four tries as Salford Red Devils severely dented Hull FC's play-off hopes in Super League.

Ligi Sao put Hull ahead but Sio crossed twice to help give the hosts a 12-8 half-time lead at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Danny Houghton's score edged the Black and Whites back in front, but the Red Devils dominated the final quarter.

Greater Manchester sides prepare for FA Cup Qualifying Rounds

With the Premier League on international break, attention turns to the Football League and also to Non League. A number of our Non League sides are in FA Cup action. FC United of Manchester, a side that reached the 1st round of the competition last season, travel to Merseyside to face Bootle.
