Man jailed for county lines related drug and firearm offences in North Manchester

Jamie Upton was jailed for three years and nine months after he pleaded guilty in June of this year to possession of ammunition and possession of class A and class B drugs.

Officers made the discovery when attending Upton's house on Crammond Close, Newton Heath, on the morning Friday 5 March after intelligence had been received by detectives investigating modern slavery and drugs trafficking in Tameside.

Two men arrested after robbery against delivery driver

Two men have been arrested following a robbery against a delivery driver at Wall Way, Debdale on 25th August 2021. Officers were called at around 8.30pm on Wednesday to a report of an armed robbery of a delivery vehicle. Police attended and enquiries established that two men approached the delivery vehicle on Garratt Way in Gorton. 

The delivery driver is then believed to have been held at gunpoint and pulled out of his vehicle. He did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

Man jailed for causing death by dangerous driving

Calinton Martin Campbell, (23/07/1978), of Burnage Lane, Manchester, has been jailed for seven years and disqualified from driving for nine years and four months.

Lancashire miss out on T20 Blast Finals Day

An unbeaten 78 from Tom Abell saw Somerset unfortunately beat the Lancashire Lightning by seven wickets to reach T20 Blast Finals Day.

Somerset chased a target of 185 with 10 balls to spare as Tom Lammonby (47 not out) and Will Smeed (44) also made impressive contributions. Lancashire's 184-9 proved to be well under-par after they made a quick start in the powerplay.

Cristiano Ronaldo linked with a move to Manchester City

Former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a shock move to Manchester City. 

Following their failed bid to sign Harry Kane, City have turned their attention to Ronaldo.
